FAQs

  • We focus on calm dogs, not chaos. And dog parks… well, let’s be honest, they can be chaos!

The Belly Rub Club is a private club, where your dog is supervised at all times, all dogs are temperament tested and vetted before admission which allows us to prioritise safety and comfort, something that can’t be guaranteed at a public park or by other facilities that take dogs off-site for play.

  • Absolutely! We welcome you to visit the space. In our first few months, we are open Saturday mornings from 9–11am, where you can have a look around, ask questions, and get a feel for how we operate.

  • Stay tuned for information on our new location!

  • Yes! You’ll receive daily photo updates of your dog enjoying their time at the Club via the Gingr App, where you will see photos, video clips and progress updates.

  • We’re open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM as a general rule, although do have options for early drop off from 6:30AM, and late pick up, till 7AM for a small surcharge.

Please let us know if you need a pick-up or drop off outside this window when booking.

  • We offer limited early drop-offs from 6:30 AM and late pick-ups until 7:00 PM for a small fee.

To request extended hours, simply add it to your booking, or contact us directly if it’s unplanned.

  • We require all dogs to be up to date with a C5 vaccination.

    • Vaccinations must be completed at least 7 days before attendance.

    • We'll collect and track vaccination records at booking.

    • Your vet is welcome to send certificates directly to us for added convenience.

  • No matter how much you love your friends, some dogs (and humans) just don't enjoy playing for over 8 hours and thrive in solo or small group enrichment.

Enrichment helps dogs stay happy, calm, and mentally stimulated, especially in a daycare setting. It gives your pup a healthy outlet for natural behaviours like sniffing, chewing, foraging, and problem-solving.

Our enrichment Add Ons are designed to boost confidence, reduce boredom, and support better rest and focus throughout the day. Whether it’s a tasty Frozen Pupsicle, a Snuffle Mat adventure, or a quick training boost, each activity is tailored to support your dog’s individual needs.

These small add-ons can make a big difference, turning a fun day into one that also supports emotional regulation, learning, and wellbeing.

  • It’s up to you how often your dog attends, however we don’t operate as a casual, drop-in daycare. Our approach is built around consistency and routine, as this is what allows dogs to truly settle, build confidence, and get the most out of their time with us.

For most dogs, we recommend attending 1–2 consistent days per week. Regular attendance helps create a predictable routine, allows dogs to build familiarity with the environment, and form stable social groups, leading to calmer, more confident behaviour both at daycare and at home.

A structured schedule reduces stress, supports emotional regulation, and ensures your dog is interacting with a familiar group of dogs each visit, not a revolving door of new faces.

For those looking to commit to a routine, we offer prepaid packages and subscription options designed to support consistency and long-term results.

  • We don’t operate as a casual, drop-in daycare. Our approach is built around consistency, as dogs thrive on routine and predictability.

Scheduling regular days allows your dog to become familiar with the environment, our team, and a consistent group of dogs. This creates stable, well-matched social groups, reduces stress, and supports calmer, more confident behaviour over time.

Rather than a revolving door of new dogs each visit, this structure allows relationships to form, play to remain appropriate, and the overall environment to stay balanced, safe, and enjoyable for every dog.

  • All new dogs start with a trail day which includes a structured temperament assessment to make sure they’re a good fit for our environment.

We ask that new dogs arrive at the start of the day so they can enter the space calmly, explore, and begin to settle before being introduced to other dogs. Once they are comfortable, our team gradually introduces them to suitable dogs in a controlled, low-pressure way, carefully observing their behaviour, communication, and ability to regulate within the environment.

Throughout the day, we assess how your dog responds to new spaces, people, and social interactions, as well as their ability to settle, engage appropriately, and cope with stimulation.

At the end of the assessment, we’ll provide honest feedback and let you know if your dog is suited to the Club. If successful, they are welcome to continue their day and begin integrating into our structured routine.

All dogs who pass the initial assessment are then closely monitored across their first three visits. This allows us to ensure they are settling consistently before being accepted as ongoing members of the Club.

Where needed, we may recommend specific training or alternative care options to support your dog’s development and set them up for long-term success.

  • We maintain a calm, controlled environment and do not accept dogs displaying aggressive behaviour or persistent, excessive barking. Dogs who are highly anxious or unable to settle in a group setting may not be suitable for daycare, as our focus is on creating a safe, balanced space for all dogs in our care.

If a dog is not yet suited to the environment, we may recommend further training to build confidence and support their development. In some cases, dogs may be suitable for our enrichment-based daycare with limited group interaction, or may be reassessed following one-on-one training.

  • We ask that as much as possible all dogs are toileted before they arrive, especially as they can get excited on arrival and as soon as they see their friends.

Meal times start at 10am. If your dog eats breakfast & can not wait till 10am, please ensure they have eaten at least 1 hour prior to arriving, exercising immediately after eating could induce vomiting or more serious condition in your dog, like Bloat.

Additionally we recommended that the safest collars are quick release collars in case they were to get caught in something.

  • We adore dogs of all shapes and sizes! However, our boutique space is specially designed for small to medium-sized dogs. Admission is based on both size and temperament to ensure a calm, safe environment for all.

Puppies who are expected to grow into larger dogs are welcome to join our Puppy Pre School, until they reach our size limit. When that time comes, we’re more than happy to recommend trusted local services that cater to larger, high-energy dogs.

  • Yes, absolutely! We’re happy to give your dog oral medication whenever they need it, free of charge.

  • The risk is very low, especially when dogs are up to date on their vaccinations (which we require). Just like going for a walk or visiting the dog park, there's always a small risk, but we do everything we can to keep your pup safe.

Our play areas are cleaned daily with vet-safe, eco-friendly enzyme products that protect dogs, humans, and the planet. We take cleanliness seriously—so everything stays fresh, sanitised, and ready for fun.

  • No. If a dog shows any signs of aggression, we remove them from our programs and recommend training. The Belly Rub Club is all about calm, friendly, social pups.

  • We do everything in our control to make sure dogs are injury free while in our care and this is a very rare scenario. However, accidents can and do happen. If anything happens, we’ll contact you right away using the emergency details you’ve provided. In urgent cases, we’ll take your dog straight to a vet.
