Alone Time Academy
You grab your keys and your dog falls apart. You leave the room and they follow. You return home to scratched doors, complaints from neighbours, or a dog so worked up they can't settle for hours.
Building independence is one of the kindest things you can do for your dog. A dog who feels calm and settled when alone is a happier, more confident dog overall, and a much less stressed household for everyone.
Separation Anxiety is one of the most common challenges dog parents face, and one of the least talked about. Because it can feel like your dog just loves you too much.
This workshop is about setting your dog up to feel safe, not just supervised. Small steps, done consistently, make a bigger difference than you might think.
Who Is This Class For?
Alone Time Academy is designed for dog parents who want to build independence from the very beginning or have noticed early signs of distress but aren't sure where to start.
Early signs of anxiety or clinginess are best tackled as soon as you see them, and prevention in new puppies is much easier than a cure. It is not suited to older dogs experiencing severe separation anxiety, who would benefit more from one-on-one support. If you are unsure whether this workshop is right for your dog, get in touch and we will point you in the right direction.
Dogs are welcome to attend if they are comfortable and settled in a group environment.
You will learn:
Why separation anxiety develops and what is actually happening
How to build independence gradually without overwhelming your dog
Departure and arrival routines that reduce stress rather than trigger it
How to create a safe space your dog genuinely wants to settle in
The role of enrichment in supporting calm, independent behaviour
Common mistakes dog parents make that accidentally reinforce anxiety
All training is Fear Free and based on positive reinforcement, so your pooch learns through safety, trust, and fun.
