Kids & Dogs: Safe Friendships

Whether you have a newborn on the way, a toddler who thinks every dog is a teddy bear, or older kids who've just never really learned the rules.

Dogs and children can have the most beautiful relationships, but they need us to set them up properly. This workshop is about giving families the understanding they need so that everybody, two-legged and four, feels safe, comfortable, and confident at home.

This workshop will give your whole family the knowledge to share life with a dog more safely, more confidently, and with a lot less stress.

What you will walk away with

By the end of this workshop, you'll have a much clearer picture of what your dog is telling you, and the tools to build a home environment where kids and dogs can genuinely thrive together.

You'll leave with:

  • A better understanding of dog body language and communication

  • Clear, simple rules the whole family, including kids, can follow

  • Confidence to set boundaries that keep everyone safe

  • Practical strategies to manage interactions at home from day one

You will learn:

  • How dogs communicate, and the signals children most commonly miss
  • Safe greeting rules for kids and dogs meeting for the first time
  • How to set up your home environment to reduce risk
  • How to create a safe space your dog genuinely wants to settle in
  • What to do when your dog is overwhelmed or needs space
  • How to recognise stress signals before they escalate
  • If kids should approach dogs they don't know, and how to safely do so

All training is Fear Free and based on positive reinforcement, so your pooch learns through safety, trust, and fun.
